🔗 Share this article Jujutsu Kaisen: The Execution Film Seeks to Resolve the Series' Major Issue JuJutsu Kaisen: Execution isn't exactly an brand-new feature. Instead, the newest film from the JuJutsu Kaisen supernatural series serves as a collection of the show's sophomore season combined with the opening installments of its next season, which kicks off the Culling Games storyline from the original manga. This positions Execution, which recently received a new trailer, the first way to see the start of the next season ahead of its January 2026 premiere. The film debuts in Japan on Nov. 7, and in North America on Dec. 5. The Culling Games Arc In the Culling Games storyline, Special Grade sorcerer Yuta Okkotsu is introduced in the television series and is tasked by jujutsu officials to eliminate his classmate Yuji Itadori. Their much-anticipated fight takes place for the first time on the cinema screen, and if the artists at the studio have a treat as the two-part Thunderclap episodes prepared for fans this holiday season, JuJutsu Kaisen: Execution may prove to be the surprise that everyone has hoped for. The Thunderclap Debate "Thunderclap episodes" from season 2 is frequently praised as among the best moments in the history of anime, despite the significant debate in the previous year when the series first premiered. It was claimed that the artists were suffering from crunch conditions to the point, and the released version that premiered at the time was incomplete and allegedly not what the team first envisioned. The Intense Confrontation The sequence involves a heavily anticipated fight between two powerful sorcerers, Sukuna and Mahoraga. It features innovative art style, superb cinematography, and intense action. A follow-up Blu-ray release allowed the team to add additional scenes to flesh out the battle. So it seemed possible Execution could improve the battle even more. However, looking at the new trailer, it's unclear if that fight has received any additional treatment. It'd be a letdown if it was not, because a sequence that grand has to be watched on the largest display with the optimal viewing experience. The Second Season's Triumph The second season of JuJutsu Kaisen propelled the series to become the top anime of the year, and when episodes 40 and 41 were premiered one after another, it was the subject of discussion for multiple weeks in the anime community. Fans were aware of the problems with the production, which made them value what they viewed even more. People eagerly awaited to see if the disc version, made available on March 18, would feature extra content to the fight or to see if it was polished at all, and were thrilled to see just that, alongside color corrections, smoother movement, and altered color palette. The Movie's Opportunity But the home video can only refine what has already been presented in the television version, whereas the cinematic experience has the opportunity to do the sequence justice with further changes and freshly created footage. A Crowning Achievement Currently, these two episodes act as the masterpiece of JuJutsu Kaisen, and should be treated as such by Mappa, especially considering the controversy they encountered at the time. It's garnered the attention of anime fans all over the world, and the Culling Games is a much-expected plotline of next year. If the studio wants to start the year off right, showcase the show's top scene once again in theaters with the finest version we've witnessed to date.
