Details of the Grave Allegations The accused, Nathaniel Spencer from Birmingham has been charged with dozens of acts of sexual assault – some of which involve acts against minors under the age of thirteen – spanning the period from 2017 to 2021. A deputy chief CPS official said, “Legal teams have worked at length to support a thorough and intricate police inquiry, meticulously examining the evidence to determine that there is a strong case to bring the case to trial and that it is in the interest of justice.” Scope of the Police Inquiry These allegations come after what investigators described as a “complex investigation” into alleged sexual offences at two hospitals: the Royal Stoke university hospital and a facility in Dudley. The defendant will appear at the local magistrates' court on 20 January. List of Charges Prosecutors said the forty-five sexual offences comprise: 15 counts of sexual assault. Seventeen counts of penetrative assault. 9 counts of sexual assault of a child under 13. Three counts of assault of a child under 13 by penetration. 1 count of attempting to assault by penetration.
