Lawmakers from the Democratic party demonstrated anger after Donald Trump charged a contingent of Democratic legislators of being "traitors" and stated they should be detained and sentenced "with execution" following their posting of a disputed video.

The Content That Triggered the Controversy

Following Trump's statements on Thursday, Top Democrats published a unified declaration denouncing the statements.

"Partisan aggression has no place in America," they declared. "Representatives who appeared in the video all acted our United States with exceptional loyalty and distinction. The officials who participated in the video also published a statement.
