On Monday, the tribunal was told communication data and data retrieved from phones documented Ms Wandelt consistently demanding Madeleine's mother for a genetic test during the past two years.

Madeleine's case in 2007 - at the age of three during a trip in Portugal - is one of the most covered child disappearance cases and continues to be open.

'I Do Not Need Money'

Another voicemail, played in court, documented Ms Wandelt saying: "I understand I'm fat and not pretty like Madeleine was, but I feel what I feel."

While a separate message of Ms Wandelt's recordings with Mrs McCann's voicemail expressed: "Suppose there is a tiny probability that I am Madeleine? Then what? Isn't that important for you?"

"I don't want money, I possess a living here in Poland, I just want to understand," she added.

The jury was told that via electronic messages, SMS messages and calls, Ms Wandelt asked for a genetic test, forwarded youth pictures to her phone in a bid to demonstrate a resemblance to Mrs McCann's disappeared daughter, and asserted to have "memories" from a youth with the McCanns.

Robert Jones, an intelligence analyst with Leicestershire Police who collated the information, advised the court there "seemed to lack any replies" from Mrs McCann.

Ms Wandelt additionally communicated with close associates of the McCanns, as per the call data.

On 9 October 2024, Mr McCann picked up a communication from Ms Wandelt to his wife's phone, stating she had "incorrect contact information."

During that incident Ms Wandelt recorded a recording on Mrs McCann's answerphone stating "I will persist and I intend to demonstrate my position."

The court was informed Mrs Spragg struck up a connection online with Ms Wandelt before assisting her on a trip to the McCanns' home in the county in that winter.

Call logs revealed Mrs Spragg had communicated using communication app to Mrs McCann to say the press had depicted Ms Wandelt as "mentally unstable" but that she ought to be treated respectfully in the months before the appearance to the village, the county, in that winter.

The court heard message exchanges between the two individuals, in last November, planning trying to get Mrs McCann's biological evidence from her trash or from cutlery at a restaurant.

"We have to make a stand," the co-defendant informed Ms Wandelt.

On the occasion of the appearance to their home, Mrs Spragg transmitted a communication which expressed: "We're currently sat adjacent to the McCanns' home with our lights out like detectives. I wanted to do this with Peter Andrew I didn't imagine I would be doing that with the McCanns."

The trial proceeds.
