History of Targeted Attacks

Since the beginning of the extensive conflict in Ukraine, a string of Russian military personnel have been subjected to assaults within Moscow.

This new event comes after other serious incidents, such as:

  • General Yaroslav Moskalik was died in a automobile blast in Moscow earlier this year.
  • General Igor Kirillov died in late 2024 when a device hidden on a scooter was detonated remotely.

While a source from Ukraine in the past connected Kirillov's death to Ukraine's security service, such assertions are never officially confirmed as a matter of policy.

The conflict has witnessed clandestine operations moving into the streets of the Russian capital.

The probe into General Sarvarov's death is still ongoing.
